United BMW has released details of the production version of the new BMW M3. This new model will be published in the United States in mid-2008 as a 2009 model year, but probably will reach the European market before. More details after the jump.
Outside, only two doors, trunk lid, windows, headlights and taillights were taken from the standard E92 3 Coupe. The rest are unique to the M3, which should give the car a more aggressive appearance, but somewhat larger, is not as aggressive. Many noted that the new M3 is too similar to the standard 3 Coupé, although most of the body panels are different. Telltale signs that the car is an M3 PowerDome on the cover, the two air intake openings on the sides and a plastic roof visible carbon fiber, or PCP. The wheels are 18 inch alloys good standard with an option for large 19-inch alloy wheels.

Under the hood is a new 4.0-liter V8 that has already been explained in detail in a previous post. To summarize a bit, it makes 420HP and reach its maximum power at 8300 rpm, abit more before revving all the way to 8400 rpm. He makes a couple of 400 nm is reached as low as 3000 rpm, which is incredibly low for such an engine revving high. 85% of peak torque remains available for a wide range of 6500 rpm. This 105hp per liter engine is mated to a 6-speed manual transmission with integrated oil cooling, and a lot of inertia optimized dual-clutch. Of course, the difference that sets 335i and M3 from each lock variable M differential, which transfers power to the left rear to right rear wheels up to 100% on every page, ensuring optimum traction.
